 Letters Of The Month: November, 2004
Dear Frank:
I attended your clinic at Bear Creek Stables, and wanted to thank you for what you taught me.
I've been under a lot of stress at work and in my personal life, and for the past several months I haven't had the mental fortitude to ride my horse, as she's still a bit green and can be a hellion at times. I just wasn't up for more stress. Participating in your clinic and watching your calm manner with horses helped me calm down myself, and put me in a frame of mind where I looked forward to riding my beast. Last week we went on a long trail ride (I did some of your exercises with her beforehand), and she was just about perfect. We had a great ride.
The one time she did get a bit exhuberant, my confidence remained intact because I had practiced the one-rein stop -- so I didn't let her momentary speed spurt bother me.
I was also very impressed with your patience and persistence in getting Fred's Steamer into the trailer. That boy had some major issues with trailers!
It was a pleasure to meet you, and I hope to be able to learn from you again.
